Masterson’s Tavern , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my recent visit at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I encountered behind its threshold was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

From the moment I entered , it was immediately obvious that hygiene was not a priority at this venue. The ground was covered in grime , and a pungent odor of decaying beverages and neglected washrooms suffused the entire bar . Smelling a mixture of ammonia , putrefaction and sickness . The main bar, which should be the main attraction of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and debris that looked like it had been ignored for a long time .
